Accenture Contract Management Portfolio Lead Senior Manager in Arlington, Virginia

You Are:

The individual must manage or advise on complex, risky and/or high-value opportunities in accordance with the AFS CM Manual and company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and customer requirements. Provides virtual and on-site advice to AFS’s business/client Sectors and project/proposal teams on contract management and policy compliance matters. Organizes, controls, and directs the work activities of a team of Contract Management professionals to the Contract Management organization, its clients and portfolio business.

Will supervise a team composed of Contract Management professionals. Exercises effective, proactive management techniques to adhere to performance objectives and measurements. Directly influences and provides guidance to and sets the example for others to follow

The Work:

Responsible for the management and delivery of all Contract Management responsibilities and contracts as assigned by Public Safety Sector:

  • Accordance with the CM Manual for the Portfolio

  • Reviews and manages contractual risks or obligations of the parties and provides review to ensure that all terms and conditions are mitigated or met

  • Prepares and disseminates information regarding opportunity, contract compliance, amendments and modifications, etc.

  • Responsible for ensuring risks are identified and shared with appropriate teams and leadership for approved mitigations and/or approvals

  • Ensure contract data is inputted the contract management systems of record in a timely manner

  • Consulted for strategy and complex escalation for Contract Managers requiring consultation on risk and issues and/or difficult or complex negotiations and/or disputes.

  • Establishes strong contract formation and company compliance with contract terms, policies, procedures and regulations.

  • Ensures the project team is aware of the requirements of the contract and works with the project team to implement and monitor compliance of the contract

  • Achieves a reasonable level of understanding of Accenture’s major offerings in order to communicate effectively with project Managing Directors and provide relevant advice.

  • Consults with CM Leadership and Legal Services as necessary per the escalation and consultation call procedures

  • Understands, supports, and enables business/client and strategy of the business/client unit

  • Point of Contact for certain Sectors within Civilian for Client Account Level Leadership

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Quality Control for all Contract Managers and work product for assigned Sectors.

  • Selects personnel for employment and work assignments

  • Supervises and manages daily workload of assigned Contract Management personnel

  • Sets performance standards, evaluates work performance, and takes action to recognize excellence and to correct deficiencies for staff and/or Career Counselees

Discipline and Sector Collaboration

  • Responsible for collaborating with CMs across disciplines and client accounts as well as other corporate functions to ensure timely, smooth and informed transitions are executed

  • Identify growth and capability needs

  • Provides ad hoc or new joiner training to Contract Management personnel and project personnel as needed

Deputy to the CM Director/Portfolio Lead

Here’s What You Need:

  • 4-year College degree preferred

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in contract management or related discipline

  • Supervisory experience in the CM discipline for multiple resources for 3 or more years.

  • Supervisory experience

  • Demonstrated successful management of complex deals

  • Comprehensive knowledge of general corporate business practices, government and commercial contracting regulations and principles, and accounting and finance principles

Bonus Points If:

  • Advanced degree in business, contract management, or law

  • Certification and/or Membership in the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) or International Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM) and professional certification are a plus

  • Strong leadership, influencing, management, negotiation, drafting and teaming skills with strong executive presence

  • Specific client knowledge and experience or discipline expertise are a plus

  • Collaborative and persuasive; able to influence executives and non-executives

  • Able to effectively communicate with client executives and all levels of the organization

  • Actively develops plans to help colleagues to succeed

  • Role model for CM within and outside of team - leads by example - strong executive presence

As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, New York, Washington, and the District of Columbia . The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set and level of experience. The pay range for the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, New York, Washington, and the District of Columbia is:

$118,500—$252,100 USD
