Hours per Pay Period: 1.00 = 80 hours (Exempt)

Responsible for providing the leadership and direction for grant management within the Foundation and to ensure continuity and consistency across and throughout departments within the organization. Effectively matches the vision and financial goals of Billings Clinic with appropriate granting agencies to generate revenue and increase the number and value of sponsored programs and activities at Billings Clinic through the preparation of proposals and grant applications. Strengthens and increases the capacity within the organization to seek sponsored funding opportunities. Indicators of program success will include internal satisfaction and awareness data as well as attainment of annual targets for proposals submitted and achievement of income benchmarks for proposals successfully funded.

Essential Job Functions

• Develops and oversees grant management within the Foundation to ensure adherence to organizational mission, vision, values, strategic goals, and business objectives.

• Responsible for the promotion of, and adherence to, the elements of Billings Clinic’s Code of Business Conduct and corporate compliance program as it relates to the business unit.

• In collaboration with Senior Leadership, physician leadership, other medical staff, and other health care providers, leads, develops, and revises grant programs which enhance the organization. Decisions specify the business unit and departmental priorities to be accomplished and how resources will be allocated. Acts as a recognized area expert within Billings Clinic and to other health care providers.

• Strategize grant development to match Billings Clinic’s vision and financial needs with appropriate prospects for submittal of written grant/funding requests.

• Promote potential grant opportunities to appropriate individuals and groups within the organization and assist Billings Clinic department managers, physicians and staff with strategies to support funding initiatives for their respective departments.

• Leads Foundation in the overall marketing, grant program development, and service priorities that support a quality-focused environment and the financial objectives of the organization.

• Coordinates with Senior Leadership and physicians to assure continuity in pursuing business unit/system goals and synergy in implementing plans and problem resolution.

• Generate revenue through timely submission of well-researched, well written and well documented proposals.

• Generate proposals and supporting documents in response to selected solicitations.

• Write reports and/or assist program staff in completion of reports to government, corporations, foundations and others as well as generally assist with writing and editing associated with fund development.

• Serves as a point of contact to all funding agencies and organizations as needed; acts as a liaison with program staff.

• Maintain comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date files of all proposals and other writing projects completed and the outcome of the solicitation and make progress reports regarding grants as required.

• As required, assist in the selection and supervision of other consultants hired for specific writing purposes.

• Demonstrates and encourages an ethic of open communication and teamwork throughout the organization. Builds an environment of shared commitment to Billings Clinic’s goals and responsibility to achieve quality outcomes.

• Leads evaluation, selection, and integration of health care technology and information management systems within the business unit that supports quality of care/financial needs and the efficient use of resources.

• Performs other duties as assigned or as needed to meet the needs of the organization.

• Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic’s mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in a related field

Experience

• Successful experience in a management role and/or project management experience.

• Successful and progressively responsible experience managing grant processes.

• Successful experience and skill in the grant writing process.

• Presenting and designing effective presentations, preferred.

Certifications and Licenses

• MT Driver License or ability to obtain one at hire, and able to be insured to operated business vehicles.

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered
