The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer – Test is responsible for activities contributing to the design and development of advanced technology testing solutions and systems. This includes activities linked to test system development, verification, qualification, upgrade, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various systems and subsystems related to the manufacturing of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) systems. The position requires mastery of a body of theoretical knowledge around testing strategies, a developed and strong foundation of function skills, and knowledge of relevant technologies.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for execution of test/automation/electromechanical system and solution design, qualification, and data acquisition for use in the design and validation of products and services.

  • Responsible for design and construction of test/process automation/mechanical facilities, instrumentation systems and development of test/process automation software.

  • Develops new solutions under guidance and/or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organization.

  • Works together with cross functional teams, specifies needs, communicates about project approach and presents outcomes.

  • Leads test data analytical and brilliant factory activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods.

  • Defines DFT and wing to wing test/process automation/data collection-analysis-decision making strategy for production testing process.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in an Engineering, specifically, mechanical engineering and/or electromechanics related degree.

  • 5 years of industrial experience in mass production test/automation equipment design and/or hardware design development.

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this position.

Desired Characteristics

  • MS in technical discipline

  • Demonstrated experience with tester/automation development and equipment specification setting.

  • Demonstrated depth of programming skills, preferably LabVIEW, C++, or Python

  • Demonstrated electro-mechanical design skills.

  • Experience in robotic system design.

  • Experience in data-based process optimization.

  • Experience in development with Unix/Linux systems.

  • Experience in development with data science, image processing, machine learning

  • Experience in development with NI PXI test platform.

  • Experience in development with Ethernet, CAN bus, Modbus, DDS protocol

  • Demonstrated basic Electronic, DFT and Automation solution design skills

  • Strong depth of knowledge in six sigma techniques for capability analysis, trending/control and MSA/GRR and Lean methodologies.

  • Combined product and process knowledge for healthcare products

  • Demonstrated program or project management skills.

  • Experienced working with global teams

  • Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Experience developing new work practices and driving change and influencing behavior of large teams.
