Weekend Nurse (RN or LPN) - Community Crisis Stabilization Unit (CCS)

Job Description:

Weekend Schedule: 16 hours, Sat & Sun (7am-3pm)

The Staff Nurse (RN or LPN) works​ collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team in a crisis stabilization unit. They provide crisis intervention and performs clinical screening/assessments of children and adults' mental health, substance use, and physical health needs.

The Community Crisis Stabilization (CCS) Unit is a 24/7 facility that works as a team to lead encouraging groups, connect clients with medication evaluations, and follow through with aftercare plans. The CCS offers short-term residential stabilization services for individuals with psychiatric and/or substance abuse disorders. Individuals are accepted on a voluntary basis and the average length of stay for the program is three to five calendar days.

Responsibilities:

  • Collects appropriate assessment and screening information, to include bio-psycho-social information, psychiatric and medication history, and alcohol/drug information

  • Establishes & oversees medication administration

  • Monitors and records the biomedical status and conditions of all clients admitted, including all observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in the client’s safety status

  • Participates in treatment team meetings and assists with development of care plans

  • Collaborates with the team in providing health information and maintenance of the medical record

  • Monitors the patient milieu for safety issues and assists with promoting a positive therapeutic environment.

  • Assists in the admitting, discharging and transferring process.

Qualifications:

  • Valid and current Massachusetts licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Current certification in CPR

  • Bilingual candidates preferred, but not required
