U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command PRECISION MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT CALIBRATOR SUPERVISOR in Sacramento, California

About the Position: Serves as supervisor responsible for supervising workers in the calibration and repair of calibration standards; occasionally adapting procedures; participating in studies, making tests to determine limitations of test equipment; and functions designed to increase the accuracy and effectiveness calibration programs. Responsibilities Plan the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials, and tools on a project-to-project, week-to-week, or month-to-month basis. Adhere to work priorities, project schedules, resources, and detailed work plans established by the supervisor. Establish deadlines and ensure adherence to schedules and priorities; interpret technical policy, procedures, and regulations; and provide advice and assistance as required to resolve management problems and maintain continuity of work. Advises customers relative to repair and calibration of test, measurement and diagnostic equipment. Recommend changes to schedules, priorities, and work sequences as necessary and make minor deviations in procedures or redirect resources under his or her control to overcome unforeseen problems. Set performance standards and makes formal appraisals of subordinate work performance. Advise and counsel workers on how to improve performance and explain new work techniques. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an PRECISION MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT CALIBRATOR SUPERVISOR without more than normal supervision. Ability to lead and supervise employees, perform difficult and complex Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator tasks including calibrating electronic, electrical, and electromechanical measurements systems. Resolve complex calibration and maintenance problems involving complex electronic, physical dimension, or optical equipment/systems being repaired, modified, or tested as an expert with a high degree of independence. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a(n) 17 Career Field position. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
